Helping youth in Chaffee County share their stories as a way to advocate for community education and acceptance, especially as it pertains to current health disparities and barriers facing minority demographics of youth.

We Are Chaffee is working in collaboration with Partnership for Community Action, the Chaffee County Youth Alliance, and Family & Youth Initiatives to promote positive youth development within our county. The inclusion of We Are Chaffee in this effort is centered around the current challenges that face our local youth, particularly certain minority demographics that face disparities in health outcomes. These challenges include feeling a sense of belonging and acceptance in both their families and the larger community, experiencing bullying and harassment, having access to fun, healthy, and meaningful activities, and securing future housing and meaningful work to support them here in Chaffee County as adults.
